Visit villages along the Battunga Trail, the Prospect Hill Museum, the Battunga-Country Grower’s Market, tea-rooms, cafes, historic pubs, wineries, artists at work at local galleries, local markets, festivals and special events.

Walk or cycle with kangaroos and kookaburras in Kuitpo Forest or try the Heysen, Kangowirrinilla and other local trails. Admire scenic views to Mt Lofty, Mt Barker, Mt Magnificent and to the coast. Look for wildflowers in Kyeema. Picnic or BBQ in an abundance of parks.



Explore the Angas River Scenic Drive. Walk heritage trails in Macclesfield, Echunga and Meadows. Visit local historic cemeteries. Take a torch through the 80 metre tunnel on the Jupiter Creek historic mine trail. Fossick in a once rich goldfield.

Put your feet up at a local B&B.
Bird-watch, sketch, paint, read, photograph. Day trip to Hahndorf, Mt Barker, Strathalbyn, Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale.

Prospect Hill Museum aims to be a museum that helps people, both local and visiting, to understand the history of Prospect Hill village and surrounding district of the Adelaide Hills.

The museum presents the history of:

  • Adelaide Hills farming, especially dairying, potato, and seed production.
  • Rural domestic life and children's education.
  • The impact of natural disasters on the village and district, such as the Ash Wednesday bushfires.
